1. What is ASDSP?

The Agricultural Sector Development Support Programme (ASDSP) is a sector-wide programme implemented by the Government of Kenya in collaboration with other stakeholders with the overall aim of supporting the implementation of the Agricultural sector development strategy (ASDS) 2010-2020. It is anchored in the Ministry of Agriculture Livestock and Fisheries

2. Why ASDSP?

The ASDS identified sector wide approach to agricultural development as means of achieving the 10% agricultural growth envisaged in Kenya Vision 2030. This was informed by the persistent constraints to the improvement of agricultural production and productivity and the lessons learnt from existing programme. ASDSP was thus formulated as a broad sector programme aimed at strengthening the application of sector-wide approaches across the sector in general and in Value chain development.

3. What does ASDSP do?

ASDSP is a support programme whose primary operational role is to convene, facilitate and coordinate the collective action of stakeholders. ASDSP will only engage in direct implementation in case other actors cannot address identified bottlenecks

4. What are the interventions areas of ASDSP?
